Free the Children carries the power of WE globally, empowering communities to lift themselves out of poverty through our holistic, sustainable international development model, Adopt a Village.

Free The Children is an international charity and educational partner. Our organization is unique among Canadian charities in that it operates collaborative programs both domestically and internationally.

In Canada, the US, and the UK, We Day and We Schools are initiatives of Free The Children that educate and empower young people. We Schools is a yearlong educational program that nurtures compassion in students and gives them the tools to create transformative social change. And We Day is a series of stadium-sized events that celebrate youth making a difference in their local and global communities.

In Africa, Asia and Latin America, we partner with communities to implement Adopt a Village, a holistic, five-pillar international development model designed to achieve sustainable change. Together with local leaders and families, we transform lives with solutions that are adaptive, effective and sustained long term by the community itself.

We are supporting the WE Learning Centre. A space dedicated to transforming service-learning opportunities for millions of students coast-to-coast, enhancing skills and knowledge to create positive change in local and global communities.

  • Dedicated Learning Centre: opportunity for Free The Children to host large groups of students during the day and offer speeches and workshops that inspire deepened involvement in the local and global community.

  • Global Classrooms: a number of interactive Global Classrooms (including audio/visual components) that will allow speakers and Educational Programming Coordinators from the Free The Children team to deliver compelling virtual experiences into schools. Virtual Skype sessions will allow the organization to remove the barrier of geography and reach schools that otherwise would not be able to receive an in-person touch point with Free The Children. This includes schools located outside of a WE Day region as well as remote areas across North America.

  • Incubation Hub: a dedicated space (including desks and office materials) for small start-up organizations as they build their organizational foundation. This incubation hub will enable non-profits/social enterprises a unique foundation for support, unparalleled access to resources, and potential mentorship opportunities.
